Role Description
Role Details: A volunteer is needed to provide direct support and assistance to our Children and Young People program by completing a range of administrative tasks and office duties for 1 half day a week. Specific Duties: • Administration duties – perform administration tasks and office duties e.g. photocopying, laminating, receiving purchase orders, processing internal and external mail, getting quotes for purchase orders, requesting approval of NDIS funds from 3rd party plan managers, assisting with compliance dashboards, filing of paper resources, stocking of stationery resources, therapy and professional resources, complete required data recording tasks to accurately record information about your volunteering activities • Client calls – confirming appointments, notifying families of appointment cancellations • Organisation and cleaning of resources – Organising resources into appropriate storage containers and cupboards Assisting with set up of groups scheduled to attend the centre for e.g. organising attendance list, set up of room, greeting and collecting families from reception and taking them to the therapy space. Cleaning of toys and equipment at the completion of groups • Helping with coordination of any events – signage, gathering marketing materials and other resources, sending emails to donors, rostering volunteers to help with activities leading up to and on the day of the event • Communication – communicate effectively with the business (staff and other individuals) to understand and respond to their needs by face-to-face, email, Microsoft Teams or telephone. Performing sighted guide techniques to effectively support clients, volunteers or staff to safely navigate their environment. Attend meetings that assist with planning and information provision Time required: Time commitment is 1 half day a week for 3 hours each shift, from 9:30am – 12:30pm with a preference for Tuesday or Wednesday

• Strong administrative skills • Good organisational skills • Attention to detail • Good written skills and fluent English speaking • Confident using Word, databases, excel spreadsheets, email • Good clear communication and interpersonal skills • Be able to work independently once oriented to tasks

Training for this role includes: • Volunteer Induction Online Training Modules • NDIS Worker Orientation Module (external) • Role specific (as required): CMS training – navigating, uploading documents NDIS 101 training – to be familiar with terminology on NDIS plans so can assist with contacting 3rd Party plan managers for approvals NetSuite training – to be able to receive orders Accessibility training An overview of Children and Young People Services and who the team members are – provided by the direct supervisor
